Coolant Slots

In a through feed wet grinding operation, coolant flows through the spindles and is interrupted by the piece parts as they pass over the small center hole in the abrasives. This interruption of the coolant can cause burning of the parts and a grinding operation that is out of control.

Slots radiating out from the center hole allow the coolant to pass around the parts and be distributed continuously and evenly across the grinding zone.

Anchor Abrasives Company normally furnishes three, equally spaced, radial slots 4, 6, 8, or 10 inches out from the center hole on 30" through feed grinders.

Rotary and oscillating grinders can also be furnished with slots any time the coolant needs to be distributed more evenly across the face of the abrasive.
